In-Home Training

Happy private clients!

Does your dog have too much control in your house? Not quite ready to take her out in the world? Don’t have time for a group class? We have the program for you, too! Our in-home lessons are customized to meet your specific needs.

Evaluations: When your dog has a behavior problem, it’s hard to know where to begin. (Trust me, I know how you feel!) Pawsitive Partners will assess behavior problems and develop a realistic behavior plan tailored to your dog’s needs. Problems include reactivity to dogs or people, phobias and separation anxiety.

Private Training: In-home lessons bring the training into your home – just you, your dog and the trainer. Private lessons are available for puppy socialization, basic manners and more advanced training. Private lessons are also available to implement the behavior plan set up in your evaluation for behavior problems such as reactivity to dogs or people, phobias and separation anxiety. During private lessons, Pawsitive Partners customizes the lesson plans to meet all your training goals. Sessions are available in packages of four, seven (complete with free group class) and on a lesson-to-lesson basis.

Therapy Training: Therapy work with your dog can be a very rewarding way to spend your time. Imagine brightening the lives of children in a group home, senior citizens in a senior living facility or all ages of people who are suffering from a serious illness in a hospital. To prepare your dog for these extra challenges, Pawsitive Partners will come to your house for private lessons to inform you about the organizations available to you and help you prepare for your test. As a team who has been there – and has been honored for their therapy work – Melinda and Chubbs can help you take that next step!

Reinforcing Rover: Have your dog exercised and trained simultaneously! After a lesson during which we discuss training techniques, Pawsitive Partners will take your dog for an hour walk to practice and reinforce those techniques. This includes updates of what techniques were practiced and which were your dog’s strengths and weaknesses.
